Are they authentic vintage rugs?

Our vintage rugs are all unique, handwoven, one-of-a-kind, authentic vintage finds. Mostly aged between 30 - 80 years old.

They have originated from the various Berber tribes and handcraft regions of Morocco where they have lived a previous life before we have bought them for our collection.

The ultimate in sustainable homewares.

How Do I Clean My Moroccan Rug?

We recommend light vacuuming, hanging outside for some fresh air every now and then and spot cleaning with natural soapy water.

For heavier stains please use a professional rug cleaning service that uses natural products and specialises in antique carpets.

Do you sell larger sized rugs?

We're often asked for larger sized rugs - ie. 3 x 4m

Vintage Moroccan rugs rarely measure wider than 2m. This is due to the weaving techniques of the old style carpets and traditional hand looms used.

If you require a larger sized rug we offer custom sized rugs made to order in our custom rug program.

Do you have other rugs available?

Yes! We have many other options available that aren't shown on the website.

Just get in touch and we'll be happy to share our current in stock catalogue with you.

Terracotta & Red Moroccan Rugs

Some of our most popular and asked after styles of vintage Moroccan rugs are the beautiful earthy terracotta tones through to vibrant red rugs from Boujad, Beni MGuild, Zemmour and the Haouz region around Marrakech.

Shop terracotta and red rugs by region:

The always popular vibrant red Boujad rugs originate from the Boujad region of the Atlas Mountains. Often featuring large central diamond shapes and lozenge motifs, surrounded by borders filled with Berber symbology. These iconic rugs tell tales of culture, history and family, each piece a one-of-a-kind work of art as unique as the weaver herself.

The heavy weight and subtle geometric design of the Beni MGuild rugs makes them the perfect choice for high traffic lounge rooms and dining areas. Their width is usually wider than many of the vintage Moroccan rug styles, and offer thick low, medium and high pile options. We love the earthy pallets of red or terracotta Beni MGuild rugs.

We also offer a collection of beautiful vintage Zemmour rugs. These traditional carpets come in combinations of softly faded back terracotta and red tones. Often in symmetrical and repeating geometric designs. The backs of the carpets just as beautiful as the front, showing the quality of the hand done weaving details.

Rugs from the Haouz region around Marrakech are often low pile, flat weave or kilim style rugs. A more practical style for the arid landscape, with earthy terracotta, ochre, orange and natural red colours that have been naturally plant and vegetable dyed. Strong goats wool end tassels and borders make them extra sturdy and a great option for dining areas.

Large sized Boujad and Zemmour rugs are great for large dining areas, lounge rooms, bedrooms and as a stunning feature rug in creative studios. The smaller sized rugs and hallway runners are great for kids rooms and nurseries, smaller bedrooms and studies.

Our collection mostly focuses on authentic vintage and antique Moroccan rugs, as well as some newer contemporary style pieces choosing the best quality rugs in great original condition. Each rug is washed and hand repaired here in Marrakech, Morocco before being sent to their new homes around the world.
