Sustainability - Offsetting With Greenfleet

I refer to Nouvelle Nomad as a sustainability lead business as it all started back in 2016 with sustainability in mind first. Not as a retro-fitted after thought.

After a career in major brands and fashion retailers, getting off the hamster wheel of corporate retail, over production and waste in the industry was a key driver in starting my own business with a slower pace and more mindful way to do things.

Nouvelle Nomad has been built on my own personal connections to the people and places where our products are hand made, and celebrating the beautiful textiles that already exist in this world rather than producing more.

In saying that - running a small business that imports, warehouses and retails inevitably has an environmental impact. So I choose to offset that impact with our membership with 1% for the Planet.

Our membership means that for every $100 in revenue we bring in - $1 is pledged towards environmental causes.

A trackable and traceable way for values driven businesses to give back.

Offsetting our 2023 emissions with Greenfleet

As end of financial year rolls around I'm happy to be certifying our 2023 carbon offsetting through Greenfleet Australia again this year.

Why Greenfleet:

Greenfleet is a 25 year old not-for-profit organisation and Australia’s first carbon offset provider who protects our climate by restoring forests.

They do this by planting native biodiverse forests in Australia and New Zealand to restore critical ecosystems and capture carbon emissions on behalf of their supporters.

These forests are legally protected, absorb carbon from the atmosphere, improve soil and water quality, and provide vital habitat for native wildlife.

Their partnerships with local communities and Traditional Owners support broad benefits for the country and communities in which we live and work.
