Foundouk Gargaa
This little courtyard fondouk market and rooftop cafe is just 50 meters in from the edge of the souk close to Katoubia mosque. Step into this leafy courtyard garden where they have local ceramics and handcraft brands on display.
The sunny rooftop is where you want to be on a hot day, sitting under the beautiful big shady tree with an iced tea.

Cafe Medina Rouge
Previously Cafe Kiff Kiff this lovely small cafe and restaurant is positioned on the edge of the medina, set over 3 levels with the best view over Katoubia Mosque towards the Atlas Mountains from the rooftop.
I love this spot for its simple rustic decor and relaxed vibe that's usually not too busy, with shady umbrellas and water misters on the roof for those extra hot days.

La Famille
A rustic and leafy courtyard setting with outdoor pizza oven, rustic shared tables and garden umbrellas. An all women run staff serving house made vegetarian dishes and sparkly ice teas.
Also has a small shop with a unique selection of local ceramics, homewares and handcrafts for purchasing on the way out.

Pikala Bicycle cafe
A rustic leafy courtyard setting set over a couple of sprawling levels of timber platforms and lush green plants, and fast wifi for the co-working space.
This is a relaxed vegetarian cafe all about sustainable locally grown food, where you can also rent bicycles for a ride around the city.

La Ferme Medina
A gorgeous lush green shady courtyard space amongst palms with little private nooks and big timber tables for a shared lunch or a quiet coffee spot.

Kech Cup
Not a courtyard or rooftop - more like a street side hole in the wall cafe. If you like a quick iced coffee, espresso or looking for alternative milks (oat, almond etc) on your then this little street side cafe is a great stop.

Soul Food Rooftop Cafe
Up the colourful stairs above a boutique concept store below where you can buy local made fashion and homewares.
This rooftop has a beautiful colourfully tiled jungle like entrance, then it's up the stairs to the umbrellas and lounges on the rooftop for a coffee stop or a quick lunch.

1112 Tea House
This is the latest Marrakech cafe opening in a gorgeous historical leafy riad courtyard full of palm trees where you can try tea from the extensive menu of blends from the various regions around Morocco.
A beautiful historic tiled riad setting with a more upmarket price tag to match.

A Mediterranean style rooftop cafe and concept store with black and white tiled rooftop, Mediterranean lunch menu and boutique on the middle level selling fashion and jewellery and homewares.

Shtatto
Always the best rooftop stop for a coffee or iced tea when passing by Rahba Lakdima and the rug souk for a view over the rooftops and the spice square below.
Shady umbrellas and comfy lounges to stop and relax before heading back into the souk.

Cafe Des Epices
The old favourite and original rooftop cafe on the spice square - very busy these days so best to visit early for coffee or be prepared to wait for a table on the roof as lunch times are especially busy.
Worth the wait though for a tagine with a view over the busy spice square below, or at ground level watching the market go by.

L'Mida
One of the busier rooftop restaurant cafes also near the spice square Rahba Lakdima. Its pretty green decor, lush green plants and famous green lady make this a busy spot that's best to book for lunch.

Azalai Urban Souk
A leafy under cover courtyard with earthy boho furnishings with a selection of fresh juices, delish local dishes and good coffee. Also has local handcrafts and ceramics for sale in their small boutique souk.

Patanque Social Club (PSC)
Leafy outdoor garden courtyard setting with rattan furniture and cocktail bar. This is a more upmarket menu and interior popular for dinner crowds, but still great for a quick coffee stop if you're wandering around Gueliz for the day.

Le Kilim
One of the original Gueliz restaurant cafes with outdoor seating on a sunny terrace surrounding the red zellige tiled restaurant and cocktail bar.

Blue Ribbon Cafe
Bakery, coffee shop and cafe restaurant with shady courtyard out the back of an ornate art deco building. Their restaurant and shop Farm Slimane sells dishes and produce made from the veggies grown on their own Marrakech farm.

Grand Cafe De La Poste
