Vintage Moroccan Rug Collection - Summer 2022

Photographed under the Moroccan sun, a collection of beautiful earthy toned vintage Moroccan rugs and homewares.
This has been our first Nouvelle Nomad photo shoot for a while, returning to Marrakech this year after the Australian borders re-opened. It's been a surreal and wonderful experience being back - feeling the creativity flowing again after such a long time of uncertainty for us all.
This vintage rug collection is a little different from previous collections. It focuses on some incredible vintage rugs from Taznakht - a region in the High Atlas mountains of Morocco known for their high quality weaving and rich earthy colour pallets - naturally plant and vegetable dyed with natural henna to get the rich dark chocolaty colour, saffron for the golden yellows, and plants and flowers for the soft pinks.
There's some especially gorgeous mid-century and antique aged pieces in this year's collection. One of a kind artworks full of history and character to be treasured for a lifetime.
Shot on location at the beautiful Sa Fonda Ecolodge in Tameslouht on the outskirts of Marrakech. A gorgeous rural estate with central pool and earthern villas set up for family gatherings and retreats. Filled with rustic antiques, eclectic art and textiles all curated by owner Esther.
This new rug collection as well as the rest of our container of ceramics and homewares will be making its way back to Australian this month read to open our new Fitzroy showroom later this year.
