More about our rugs here
Buying a vintage rug is an investment you want to carefully consider, and a purchase you may have been researching and thinking about for a while - so what ever we can do to help we're more than happy to.
Nouvelle Nomad rugs and textiles are authentic vintage finds, or crafted from vintage textiles. Due to their handwoven and unique nature - irregularities in shape and colour, and signs of wear and age must be expected, and are what add to their beauty, character and value.
Any questions you have about our treasures, their origins, where and how we source, or how to care for your new rug - please get in contact at any time.

WASH AND REPAIRS
The sourcing and restoration process is a slow and skilful one. Our rugs are hand washed and repaired in Morocco before being shipped to our Australian showroom or their new homes around the world. Any restorations required are done by hand by skilled artisans in the traditional methods and with materials to best suit the treasure and its origins.

CARE FOR YOUR VINTAGE RUG
Rugs should be vacuumed regularly, and can be hung outside in the sunshine and fresh air to freshen them up and get rid of any loose dirt. We recommend only ever using mild soapy water to spot clean your carpet. Chemical cleaners and vintage textiles are definitely not friends - so keep cleaning simple and to the basics.
The delicate wool and natural dyes are colour fast but will fade over time in direct sunlight, and with usual wear and age. So please keep this in mind when choosing it's positioning in your home.

If your rug is in need of a deeper clean - mobile carpet steam cleaning services are an inexpensive option (when done with no chemicals or detergents).
Otherwise contact a professional rug cleaning service in your area - there's plenty around. And many will pick up and deliver for you.
