I look forward to sharing the new collections with you very soon!
Nouvelle Nomad rugs and textiles are authentic vintage finds mostly aged between 30 - 80 years old, or crafted from vintage textiles. Due to their handwoven and unique nature - irregularities in shape and colour, and signs of wear and age must be expected, and are what add to their beauty, character and value.
Any questions you have about our rugs, their origins, where and how we source, or how to care for your new rug - please get in contact at any time.
WASH AND REPAIRS
The sourcing and restoration process is a slow and skilful one. Each rug is hand washed and repaired in Morocco before being shipped to our Australian showroom or their new homes around the world. Any restorations required are done by hand by skilled artisans in the traditional methods and with materials to best suit the treasure and its origins.

CARE FOR YOUR VINTAGE RUG
Rugs should be vacuumed regularly, and occasionally hung outside in the sunshine and fresh air to freshen them up and get rid of any loose dirt. We recommend only ever using mild soapy water to spot clean your carpet. Chemical cleaners and vintage textiles are definitely not friends - so keep cleaning simple and to the basics.
The natural dyes in the older rugs will fade over time, especially if placed in direct sunlight, and with usual wear and age. So please keep this in mind when choosing it's positioning in your home.
While the dyes are mostly colour fast - occasionally the deeper red natural dyes have been know to bleed or transfer onto other surfaces when wet - so please keep this in mind before placing on carpets or upholstery.
If your carpet is in need of a deeper clean due to spills or wear, contact a professional rug cleaning service in your area - there's plenty around that specialise in vintage and antique rugs. And many will pick up and deliver for you.
